micro-indie label sharing rich, melodic, well-crafted rock and pop for minds, feet, and hearts
Fans of the modern electropop divas, listen up: Syante is here.
If you’re a lover of the pop-electropop offerings of Tate McRae and Taylor Swift—or if you’ve ever felt lost and alone even in a big city—”Stranded,” the new single from pop singer-songwriter Syante, was made for you.
We’d gamble, actually, that there will be folks out there who say they’ve found their new favorite singer. Syante’s voice is sometimes cutting, sometimes earthy, and when she gets up to her head voice and falsetto, just heavenly.
Badself’s Jeremy Scott Olsen produced this track to showcase the light, soaring side of Syante’s gift. By the time that third and fourth chorus comes around, her voice is just melting all over you like butter on hot toast.
If you love the raw voice and sing-along pop sensibilities of AFI, the stop-start post-punk energy of Sensefield, or Jimmy Eat World’s balance of high-energy hip-swinging rock and hearts on sleeves, you might want to hear Red Light Go‘s Fertile Ground EP. A really compelling and seriously rocking debut.
Also available on Badself Records are two singles from the upcoming LP BurningControl. And another EP is waiting in the wings after that.
