The logo for Badself Records. In black letters over a white background—the word "badself" in extra-bold and all lowercase spans the full width, and "RECORDS" in thinner and all-capital letters is below it, smaller, flush to the right. Both words are italicized equally.

Cover art for the song Stranded by the artist Syante. We see Syante at the upper edge of a beach, near telephone poles, a parking lot, and the houses and apartments that line this stretch. Her name glows in white in a cursive font top left, and centered about two-thirds of the way down, "stranded" spans the image in large, thin, sans-serif letters. Except for the glowing words, the rest of the imaged is letterboxed and colored to look something like a dramatic indie film.

Fans of the modern electropop divas, listen up: Syante is here.

If you’re a lover of the pop-electropop offerings of Tate McRae and Taylor Swift—or if you’ve ever felt lost and alone even in a big city—”Stranded,” the new single from pop singer-songwriter Syante, was made for you.

We’d gamble, actually, that there will be folks out there who say they’ve found their new favorite singer. Syante’s voice is sometimes cutting, sometimes earthy, and when she gets up to her head voice and falsetto, just heavenly.

Badself’s Jeremy Scott Olsen produced this track to showcase the light, soaring side of Syante’s gift. By the time that third and fourth chorus comes around, her voice is just melting all over you like butter on hot toast.

A really great hard rock debut from Red Light Go.

If you love the raw voice and sing-along pop sensibilities of AFI, the stop-start post-punk energy of Sensefield, or Jimmy Eat World’s balance of high-energy hip-swinging rock and hearts on sleeves, you might want to hear Red Light Go‘s Fertile Ground EP. A really compelling and seriously rocking debut.

Also available on Badself Records are two singles from the upcoming LP Burning Control. And another EP is waiting in the wings after that.

Cover art for the EP Fertile Ground by the band Red Light Go. We see the lowercase "rlg" logo in white, and in smaller, red, capital letters to the right of it, "EP2004." This is over what looks almost like an aerial view of a video game from the early 2000s. We see a rectangular beige patch that suggests dirt, with a path leading off to the right. Surrounding it is a blotchy green that suggests grass or planted terrain. At the bottom are the shadowy shapes of trees and power lines.
